On Wed 24 Jan, If It’s To Break invites audiences on a brooding, shadowy and often unsettling exploration into the self-reflective core of art at The Lowry.

Conceived by production company Bitterroot, the darkly surreal yet viscerally resonant new stage experience charts an unflinching odyssey through the artistic process, where the creator collides relentlessly with societal and internal pressures in the sisyphean pursuit of contentment, as Chris Richards’ original composition provides a fitting soundscape for the artist’s descent into insanity.

Your soft clay is put in an oven to cook and harden. It either splits, cracks, breaks… or it holds. Is it up to you to decide if it’s to break or if it’s to hold?
