Following two immensely successful years, BlueDot Festival returns this month to the stunning backdrop of the Jodrell Bank Observatory for a unique weekend of music, art and technology with a cosmic twist. Quickly becoming a stand-out festival on the musical calendar, past appearances have included the likes of Jean Michel Jarre, Pixies, Public Service Broadcasting, Brian Eno, Underworld, Air, Caribou and Everything Everything. This year they’ve lined up another intergalactic array of talent for the weekend of 19 – 22 July, with appearances from The Chemical Brothers, Future Islands, The Flaming Lips, Gary Numan, Little Dragon and more. Additional Thursday evening tickets are also available, with fans invited to catch what promises to be a very special evening from the Hallé Orchestra, performing The Blue Planet live in concert.
This year, award-winning venue and promoter Band On The Wall will take over the Roots stage, hosting an exciting range of acts spanning some of the best names in modern jazz, soul and R&B from across the globe. Nested in The Arboretum under the shadow of the Lovell Telescope, fans can look forward to performances from Columbian pop sensation Lao Ra, Hereford’s soulful jazz/hip hop duo Cold Callers, Belgium-based rapper Baloji, audio-visual maestros Electronic Empires and many more.
