Karnival pride themselves on fusing music with performance to create an immersive club experience, drawing influence from South American theatrical troupe De La Guardia. In 2009 they won funding from Ideas Tap, with head Kevin Spacey (yes, that one) calling Karnival ‘innovative and original’ and praising them for ‘breaking boundaries in performance’. They celebrate their seventh birthday in style at Stage & Radio with the actually legendary Justin Robertson headlining. With 23 years experience under his belt, Justin’s currently making waves with his latest incarnation, The Deadstock 33s. Justin studied in Manchester, falling in love with acid house, stocking shelves at Eastern Bloc Records fuelling his rise as a DJ. Neil Diablo, of Diablo’s Social Club since 2003, will be spinning house and disco to warm up together with Karnival resident tacet. Room two sees longtime Manc party-starters Micron join up with new Karnival resident Ten:10 – expect techno, disco, acid and house over the night. As well as the musicality for your ears, the Karnival performers will be fully repping to provide wonderment for your eyes.
