Cries of injustice were heard when Tame Impala announced only a small number of UK dates for September – and had chosen Liverpool over Manchester in the North West posse, pushing their Manc appearance back to 2016. The most recent album Currents has been widely commended across the board and following Innerspeaker and Lonerism, it marks the first time frontman Kevin Parker took it upon himself to record, produce and mix a whole album, and all in a beachside shack in Perth. His perfectionist and obsessive attitude is reflected in a collection of songs that are remarkably deep and textured; a heartfelt output resulting from Parker’s inner-examinations. Manchester Arena is just one of two UK performances confirmed for next year – get this snapped up!
