Victoria Warehouse, the Old Trafford venue that hosted the BBC 6 Music Festival earlier this year, will be home to a heady cocktail of whisky tasting and live music in November, as the Whisky Sessions debuts in the city. Bartenders from Northern Quarter bar Whiskey Jar will be joined by acts including I Am Kloot, British Sea Power and Gomez over the course of this two-day event. Formerly home to The Warehouse Project, Victoria Warehouse boasts a whooping 4,000-capacity venue for live music – with its adjoining hotel (pictured) set to host whisky tastings, included within the ticket price. The Whisky Sessions will also be featuring as a pop-up at various festivals throughout the country this summer, with plans to to take it to London in 2015. With whisky being heralded as an inspiration for musicians throughout history, the organisers are planning to introduce new whiskies from around the world – culminating in an exciting and unprecedented festival of music and whisky in equal measure. See below for the live music line-up per day. We’ve got a pair of tickets for the Friday session to give away. To be in with a chance of winning, send the answer to the questions below – plus your name, age, Twitter handle and phone number – in an email to competitions at manchesterwire dot co dot uk with the subject line ‘Whisky Sessions competition’.
