Undressed, a new weekend-long celebration of folk and alt-country, takes place in two churches in Ancoats this August: Hallé St Peter’s and St Michael’s, with Saturday headlined by The Travelling Band, an alt-country group who are currently promoting their third album The Big Defreeze. Sunday’s headliner is American singer-songwriter Jesca Hoop (pictured). On her latest album Undresswhich provided the inspiration for this weekend – Jesca performed duets with Elbow’s Guy Garvey and Sam Beam from Iron & Wine. Also appearing at Undressed will be Liz Green, Bird to Beast, Jo Rose and Race to the Sea, among numerous others. Both churches will have a bar featuring First Chop ales. Early bird tickets are limited, so book early.
