This Tardis-like craft beer and Indian street food bar opened just before Christmas in the heart of Piccadilly. With a veggie food policy and house beer, Bombay Dazzler courtesy of Northern Monk brewery, Bundobust have established themselves as one of Manchester’s favourite new eateries (and boozers) in record time. The food side of things is handled by award-winning team from Bradford’s vegetarian restaurant, Prashad, and the beer is simply one of the best craft selections in the North West, ever changing and never short of thrills. A visit any time is a massive treat – and this week they’re hosting their first ever beer matched meal, in association with Oskar Blues. Hailing from Colorado and credited as the first craft brewery to package beer in cans, Oskar Blue’s head brewer Jeremy Rudolph will be on hand with five beers specially chosen to accompany Bundobust’s signature spicy street food. The menu includes Bundobust’s signature okra fries (you’ll never want to go back to potatoes), paneer and mushroom tikka, a bourbon ice cream – and more – each paired with one of Rudolph’s rocky mountain brews such as Hot Box Coffee Porter, Pinner Throwback IPA and Beerito. We were already in love with the Piccadilly eatery but with this, the first of a series of food meets beer events, they may never see the back of us.
