Coming to Manchester for the very first time from Pakistan via Copenhagen, the Aks Festival centres the experiences of LGBT minorities in its inventive curatorial programme. Mixing short films with panel discussions, the two-day event at Number 70 Oxford Street (the former Cornerhouse building) examines pressing topics such as Black Lives Matter and contemporary feminism from an LGBT perspective, with original cinema from Pakistan, the US and UK.
