The legendary Queer Contact Arts Festival is returning for 2021, but this time it’s digital. Tickets are now on sale for all online events running from Thursday 29 April to Saturday 1 May. Queer Contact has played the crucial role of empowering queer voices and creativity for over a decade, becoming a staple of Manchester’s Queer arts scene.

Among the many events taking place this year is the annual Vogue Ball which is a notorious staple of the festival that showcases the skills of Vogue Houses across the North West. This year the Vogue Ball will return, but not in its physical format. The party will take place online, with Drag SOS star Cheddar Gorgeous hosting an interactive cabaret and presenting a diverse range of acts. The Ball will be followed by a party with Manchester-based DJ collective RebeccaNeverBecky.

Another of this year’s year’s highlights is a conversation with TV writer Russell T Davies, whose past credits include this year’s Channel 4 hit It’s a Sin alongside Queer as Folk and Doctor Who, who will be joined by his It’s A Sin star Nathaniel Hall to discuss representations of HIV and AIDS on stage and screen. With many remarkable LGBTQ+ guests attending, this is a digital festival that needs to be on your radar. To browse the full line-up of events and book your tickets, head here.
