The multi-talented polyglot Magda Giannikou brings her Banda Magda ensemble to Manchester as part of their Tigre album tour. Outside of lush Franco-jazz compositions complemented by her New York-based backing band and adorned by her accordion and vocals, Giannikou creates film soundtracks and also has a duet with Louis CK on her CV, but you can expect hers to be a far more upbeat performance than the comedian’s wry observations. The band’s third LP hit the shelves in January and will be the focal point of their Band on the Wall show this April.
