As part of HOME’s new January to July theatre season, Manchester’s premier art, cinema and theatre venue will be hosting Bourgeois & Maurice’s Insane Animals — a production written by the eponymous duo’s real-life alter egos George Heyworth and Liv Morris and directed by Philip McMahon. The club-cabaret duo Bourgeois & Maurice are no stranger to the world stage, having developed an international following and cultish acclaim through their offbeat, hilarious and dangerously catchy brand of musical comedy. Insane Animals sees the duo helm their biggest show yet, framed against a cast of insanely talented actors and musicians as they apply a queer lens over history, rejoining the dots that lead up to the present. It is a production glittering with songs, caustic wit,  biting satire and lots and lots of sequins and lipstick. The production will be making its world premiere here in Manchester, a city lucky enough to be given the first chance to see how Bourgeois & Maurice – two glamorous aliens that would make RuPaul blush – examine the human psyche. The production begins its run on Friday 28 February and ends on Saturday 14 March. Tickets are available via the HOME website with some as low as £15. Concessions are also available.
