Boxed In is the solo project from Oli Bayston (pictured), whose previous ventures include Manchester band Keith, who won Road to V’s 2006 competition alongside Bombay Bicycle Club. Before starting a band that references a painting by Francis Bacon, Bayston moved southwards and has since worked with the likes of Willy and Steve Mason, Anita Blay (you’ll know her as CocknBullKid) and Lianne La Havas. His newest project is made up of Liam Hutton (drums) and Mark Nicholls (bass), and encompasses the sounds of indie-dance and mellow disco with shimmering guitar hooks that’s sure to see welcoming audiences this summer at festivals. Having already received considerable airplay on BBC Radio 1 and 6 Music, this show is set to be quite the foot-tapper (or fierce head-bobber depending on how many coffees you had that day). Go on, make someone’s Valentine’s Day eve.
