Having sold out the Deaf Institute as recently as February, Boxed In return in June – this time to headline Gorilla, with guests Silverclub. Boxed In is the solo project from Oli Bayston, whose previous ventures include Manchester band Keith, who won Road to V’s 2006 competition alongside Bombay Bicycle Club. Before starting a band that references a painting by Francis Bacon, Bayston moved southwards and has since worked with the likes of Willy and Steve Mason, Anita Blay (you’ll know her as CocknBullKid) and Lianne La Havas. His newest project (pictured) encompasses the sounds of indie-dance and mellow disco with shimmering guitar hooks that’s sure to see welcoming audiences this summer at festivals. Silverclub, meanwhile, will add their ‘amorphous electric disco machine’ to this exciting double bill.
