Chad Valley, aka Hugo Manuel (from Jonquil), will be bringing slick 1980s-style jams and early 1990s disco ballads to Soup Kitchen later this month, in support of debut album Young Hunger. Following the buzz from previous EP Equatorial Ultravox, Manuel has channeled contemporary electro-pop for his solo work with a mix of whirling synths and chillwave, acquiring appearances alongside the likes of Twin Shadow, TEED and Glasser along the way. Support comes from emerging Newcastle band Mausi, who set the mood for the evening with their catchy pop and synths.
