Manchester Science Festival 2017 is to direct its telescopes to alien activity by screening classic X-Files episodes at Gorilla. Perhaps TV’s most famous paranormal investigation partnership, FBI duo Mulder and Scully’s adventures in the unknown will lead into a post-screenings discussion with a panel of alien hunters and extra-terrestrial scientists. Aside from inspiring references across the cultural spectrum, from Catatonia to The Simpsons, the long-running supernatural series won hearts and minds through the 1990s and an 11th season is due in 2018 after 2016’s successful revival.
