Flight of the Conchords fan? Finally, New Zealand’s fourth most popular guitar-based digi-bongo acapella-rap-funk-comedy folk duo gets the recognition it deserves with a special club night at the Deaf Institute. ‘Clubnight of the Conchords’ pays tribute to comedy partners Jemaine Clement and Bret McKenzie with an evening of songs from their Grammy-winning back catalogue. Along with favourites from their cult TV show, music includes the artists that influenced the Conchords, such as David Bowie, Kraftwerk, Prince and Marvin Gaye. The night is co-presented by the Pilot Light TV Festival, and fancy dress is positively encouraged. And if you happen to hold a New Zealand passport, you’ll get a discount on the door. £3 early bird tickets are on sale now.

Fri 1 Sep, Deaf Institute, 135 Grosvenor St, Manchester M1 7HE. Tel: 0161 276 9350, 11pm, £3, www.pilotlightfestival.co.uk
