Local born author David Consadine returns home for the Manchester launch of his short story collection The Dressing Up Box and other stories which focuses on personal moments of crisis and the pinch points around them. Consadine’s short story In Another Country became the basis for the critically acclaimed Oscar nominated movie 45 Years and he has been regularly hailed as one of the greatest living British short story writers and will appear at the recently re-opened Blackwell’s to celebrate the launch of his latest collection. Published by Manchester publisher Comma Press, the launch is sure to feel like a celebration of local talent and a local success story, with the latest collection a celebration of life worth living no matter the troubled times humans find themselves in, or how inhospitable they have been to the world around them. Tickets are £3 and are redeemable against the £14.99 price of the hardback copy of the book.
