Leading lights of London’s lo-fi rock scene, Dignan Porch, are coming to Manchester’s Castle Hotel this week. With releases via both Brighton’s tastemaking Faux Discx and Brooklyn’s Captured Tracks, acclaim for the indie rockers’ ear for a melody has been blossoming on both sides of the Atlantic. For this Family Tree show they’ll be joined by fellow capital dwellers Charles Howl and Manchester’s slo-mo distortion contortionists Elle Mary & The Bad Men. File under everything from head nodding and swaying to hip shaking.

Sat 9 Apr, The Castle Hotel, 66 Oldham Street, Northern Quarter, Manchester, M4 1LE. Tel: 0161 237 9485, 8pm, £6, www.dice.fm
