Coming to Projekts MCR skatepark this July for three days only is live rave Saturnalia – dubbed as “an occasion of wild revelry or indulgence,” combining bass, politics and belonging. Brought to you by the collaboration of Contact Theatre’s Young Company, HighRise Theatre and Level Up, this event promises to create a “colosseum of celebration,” featuring a whole host of brilliant performers including DJs, MCs, poets, dancers, musicians and storytellers.

Directed by Dominic Garfield who also helmed Lil.Miss.Lady – the iconic production that blended grime with theatre, and The Concrete Jungle Book, an explosive hip hop musical that catapults Rudyard Kipling’s classic story into inner-city Britain with live rap music, grime, spoken word and high energy physicality – Saturnalia is sure to evoke a similar unpredictable party atmosphere.

With performers from the award-winning Contact Young Company, self-proclaimed as “fiercely Northern with an international outlook”, and their Level Up programme which acts as a community platform for young and emerging musicians to produce, promote, and perform their own music – why not support a great cause while also indulging in this radical new concept rave?

Fuelled by imagination and revolution, Saturnalia will offer audiences the chance to show their support for the arts, especially during these tough times, alongside enjoying the visceral transportation into an underground world of bass, politics and belonging – rising from the ashes of our brand-new, post-pandemic world. Social distancing and additional safety measures will be in place during each performance. To find out more and book your tickets, follow the link below.
