At this special, live version of Partisan’s weekly ‘drone yoga’ class, local artist, AHRKH (Gnod), will soundtrack a class using instruments and vocals. Suitable for both beginners and intermediate yogis, participants will perform a linked series of postures matching the rhythms of the music under the direction of teacher, Laura Williams. This will be followed by a 30-minute gong bath – a practice which seeks to inspire deep relaxation and feeling of restoration. AHRKH is the solo project of A P Macarte, a member of Salford’s acclaimed experimentalists Gnod. The artist is interested in therapeutic uses and functions of sound and is currently studying at the British Academy of Sound Therapy. AHRKH also runs a record label and hosts a monthly radio show both under the Golden Ratio Frequencies moniker, exploring music of a “vibratory” nature. If you’re interested in music and yoga, we’re struggling to think of a better match.
