With the recent release of Out Of Touch In The Wild, their third studio album, Dutch Uncles gave away a pair of tickets to each purchaser from Piccadilly Records to a special intimate gig entitled ‘Flexxin In The Castle’ on Oldham Street. That was ever so nice of them – but unfortunately it was limited to just 50 tickets, meaning many fans missed out. The five-piece then created the ‘Godboy’ burger at Almost Famous, featuring a staggering amount of meat topped with a jelly baby – again, this was very lovely of them but it was limited to only 25 per day over just one weekend. If you missed both these boats then fear not for the boys from Marple are playing Gorilla on Saturday 16 February in something of a homecoming gig at the end of a ten-date tour of the UK. Head down to Whitworth Street and grab a burger beforehand. It might not be an official Godboy but it will fill you up before you expel all your energy flexxin your night away with Manchester’s finest art-poppers.
Sat 16 Feb, Gorilla, 54-54 Whitworth Street West, M1 5WW, £8 adv, 7.30pm, www.ticketline.co.uk
