This Saturday sees the return of Emergency, a full day of innovative and varied artistic performances from the most contemporary North-West artists. Now in its 20th year, the event is described as a ‘micro-marathon of the bizarre, the bold and the beautiful’, and promises to be an unforgettable – and unpredictable – day out. The event takes place across two buildings in Hulme – NIAMOS during the day and Stun Studio + Z Arts in the evening. The daytime section of the event allows visitors to experience a selection of performances, exhibits and ‘experiences’ from a huge variety of artists, including BOXD Theatre and tattoo artist rahtattoo. The evening will host a series of short sit-down shows from both solo performers and collectives. The event is largely aimed at adults and operates on a ‘pay what you decide’ basis – effectively, you pay whatever you think the experience is worth on the day. Anyone interested in the arts – and in experiencing the cutting-edge of contemporary performance – shouldn’t miss this exciting and unique event.
