The nights are drawing in, and that means it’s the perfect time for a festival of light. Enlighten Bury, which takes place in October, is a night-time public art trail with a programme of experimental music. The festival takes place over two evenings in the town’s cultural quarter, both in the streets and in galleries and bars. Among the many contributors is the BAFTA award winning digital artist Seb Lee-Delisle. He presents a large-scale interactive game where the aim is to catch lightning. Hopefully, it’s not as dangerous as it sounds. The acclaimed electronica duo Plaid will perform a new ambient soundtrack accompanied by a quirky automaton. ‘Poco Apollo’ is and innovative work which automatically generates musical soundscapes for photographs in NASA’s archives. Drawing on influences as diverse as 1970s synthesiser culture and DIY woodworking, local art collective Owl Project will be fusing sculpture and sound. The light installations are free to view, but the musical events are ticketed. To be in with the chance of winning 2x passes to the festival simply  sign up to our mailing list in the top right hand corner of our home page, then send an email headed ‘Enlighten competition’ including your name, age and Twitter handle to competitions [at] manchesterwire [dot] co [dot] uk.
