Following her sold out show at the Dancehouse Theatre earlier this month, FKA Twigs returns to the RNCM this Autumn. The former backing dancer for Kylie Minogue started out with a self-issued debut in 2012, brilliantly jarring experimentalism with elements of trip-hop and electronic art pop. She signed to the taste-making Young Turks label last year (home to The xx and friends) and her debut album, LP1, has continued down the path of enormous cultural and critical acclaim. Awarded Best New Music and an 8.8 by Pitchfork, other reviews have been even more effervescent in their praise. Picked out as one to watch from the very beginning, the swirl of blog hype around her quickly turned into much more tangible plaudits: the BBC featured FKA Twigs on their much-vaunted Sound of 2014 list, while Billboard magazine had her in their 14 most important artists to watch in 2014. A very hot ticket.
