Multiple award-winner and two-time Mercury Music Prize nominee Eliza Carthy is set for a pre-Xmas show at Manchester’s RNCM with her twelve-piece backing band, The Wayward Band. Renowned for her powerful singing voice and adeptness with a range of stringed instruments, Carthy and the band she formed in 2013 will joined forces to continue her musical explorations into the far corners of folk music’s possibilities. The band’s melodies bore recorded fruits in February via Big Machine, which harvested high ratings from The Independent, Mojo and Record Collector, as well as full marks from The Guardian.
