Tickets are now on sale for this year’s Food for Real Film Festival, which will take place in Liverpool later this month. The four-day event looks at the social, political and environmental impacts of the food we grow and eat. Several venues throughout the city will host the festival’s 30 film screenings, including features, documentaries, shorts and animations. The event is centred on the Spring Equinox, and on that day – Friday 20 March – from sunrise to sundown, there will be a party in the city’s Princes Park, which will include music and a procession. Many other events are planned, including a ‘Make and grow’ produce food market, and a night-time garden party. The theme of this year’s festival is food waste, and Tristram Stuart, a renowned campaigner on this subject, and former TED speaker, will be in attendance.
