The Marble Arch is celebrating 125 years in the business by treating everyone to a series of free events including talks, quizzes, limited edition birthday beers and a beer festival. However, among all this sits something that meanders somewhat from your typical beery festivities. The Gangs of Manchester Tour explores the gang warfare in the slums of industrial Manchester and Salford during the late 19th Century, bringing to life the book of the same title by Andy Davis, who gave a talk at the Marble Arch earlier this year detailing the likes of the Bengal Tigers from Ancoats and Salford’s Buffalo Bill mob. The tour is led by Emma Fox of Manchester Guided Tours, and kicks off at Barton Arcade before concluding at the Marble Arch.
