Their tracks are interwoven with tender lyrics and are accompanied by glimmering psych-pop notes that hold hands with swooning guitar riffs not dissimilar to MGMT. Each song creates an expanse of soundscape around the listener that might just be the ticket for a sweet summer jam. This is the definition of North London band Gengahr, signed onto Transgressive records. Some of their tracks have been mixed by Tarek Musa (producer at Transgressive) of Spring King, who recently played a raucous gig at our own Gullivers in Manchester. Fresh off their performance at Salford’s Sounds From The Other City Festival, Gengahr are releasing their debut album A Dream Outside on 15 June and as well as joining the festival circuit, have announced a UK tour this October. Championed by Huw Stephens, take up the opportunity to enjoy this band’s shimmering, warm outputs.
