Grimmfest is returning to Northern climes this month, and it promises to provide a ton of spine-chilling delights. This year’s festival is planned as a ‘hybrid’ event, with live events taking place at Odeon Great Northern in Manchester from 7 to 10 Oct, closely followed by an online version, running from 14 to 17 October.

The virtual festival will complement and sit alongside the live festival, with much of the content crossing both events, but with some online exclusives thrown into the mix too.

Every selected film will be in the running for the annual Grimmfest ‘Reaper’ awards, and The organisers have announced two exclusive UK premieres as part of their virtual event; Ben Charles-Edwards explores the damage done and the demons unleashed by a traumatic domestic confrontation in ‘Father of Flies’. And ‘For Roger’ sees a grieving man, poring over video recordings of his late partner, only to be confronted with some uncomfortable truths
