Tickets are on sale now for some special Halloween events. The Village Screen is hosting three pop-up film nights at the appropriately spooky venue of Victoria Baths. First up is the undisputed classic from Steven Spielberg: Jaws. The movie actually takes place over 4th of July weekend, but it’s certainly scary enough for Halloween. Next is 1980s horror comedy The Lost Boys, which is all about vampires – but not of the Twilight variety. On the Saturday, it’s time for something more family-friendly, with The Witches. Despite being a PG, this adaptation of the Roald Dahl favourite is likely to provide a few scares for younger kids. Fancy dress is encouraged, and adding to the atmosphere, a DJ will be spinning Halloween classics before the screenings. Street food vendors will be serving up Autumnal grub, and a bar will offer a selection of alcoholic and soft drinks… plus popcorn.
