Why not start off your December in a tasteful fashion, with the Carols by Candlelight concert? An annual tradition at the Cathedral, it always packs in the punters. The event is in support of Henshaws, a charity which offers information, advice and guidance to those living with sight loss in Greater Manchester. This festive evening will have performances from vocalist Martin Toal, poet Dave Steele, blind opera singer Denise Leigh and world-renowned pianist Stefan Andrusyshyn. There will also be performances from local choirs, and of course attendees will get to join in with the singing as well. The night will also feature talks by people who have used Henshaw’s services. To keep you warm in the pews, mince pies, mulled wine, tea and coffee will be on offer. Early bird tickets are on sale now, but only until the end of October. Guides and personal assistants get to go free.
Thu 6 Dec, Manchester Cathedral, Victoria Street, Manchester M3 1SX, Tel: 0300 222 5555, 7.30 – 10pm, £8 – £12, www.eventbrite.co.uk
