Melbourne jazz virtuosos Hiatus Kaiyote continue their rise and rise with a visit to Manchester on their latest tour. Initially self-releasing their debut LP, Tawk Tomahawk, the band have since become a vibrant beacon on the music industry radar with last year’s Choose Your Weapon album receiving plenty of critical acclaim. A couple of Grammy nominations to the good and they’re en route to a show at the 1,500-capacity, Grade II-listed auditorium of The Ritz. Endorsement by some of hip hop, jazz and soul’s biggest names doesn’t hurt either – Erykah Badu, Questlove and Prince among them.
Wed 27 Apr, The Ritz, Whitworth Street West, Manchester, M1 5NQ, 7pm, £16, www.bandonthewall.org
