Here at Manchester Wire we are quite partial to a festival – particularly when it’s run by world-leading theatre and circus company, Wild Rumpus. The team behind A Day at the Lake and The Lost Carnival also host the annual, three day celebration the Just So Festival in the beautiful surrounds of Rode Hall in Cheshire. If you’ve been to one of their events before you’ll know what to expect: incredible costumes, pyrotechnicians and dancers, thrilling, imaginary creatures (think mermaids, packed into a horse trailer and talking hangmen) as well as interactive stage shows, workshops, music and, of course, plenty of great food and drink. Camping is available on site in a stunning setting. This privately-owned estate which is usually only open on Wednesdays and Bank Holiday Mondays. Highlights of this year’s Festival include the Just So Bake Off (bring your own creations along and win big), a midnight feast and what looks set to be the world’s biggest pillow fight.
