Megadog, the legendary electronica series that pioneered live dance music in the 1990s, returns to Manchester this February for a spectacular indoor festival at Bowlers Exhibition Centre on Saturday 29 February. As their first Megadog event since their sell-out 30th anniversary show in 2015, this 13-hour festival will bring key players from 90’s rave culture performing over 4 special stages. Megadog shows were infamous for combining innovative live electronic sets (think Aphex, Orbital, et al) with circus acts and ambitious lighting shows and this 2020 iteration promises to hark back to that tradition. Headliners include the uplifting psych-techno of System 7 (aka Steve Hillage & Miquette Giraudy), Belgian-via-Durham electronica legend CJ Bolland and prolific producer, Banco De Gaia — among many, many more. Arranged by M-event Production, who have brought Megadog, Convoy Cabaret, SubSoniks and One Tree Island together to co-organise the marathon, this will be a once-in-a-generation chance to relive the 1990s electronica heyday or experience it for the very first time. Megadog: “It is going to be one of those special Manchester experiences, one for the memory bank.”
