Booking is now open for the Levy Cycling Tour, which is taking place on Saturday 15 August. The event is organised by the community group Love Levenshulme and the charity Sustrans. Setting off from Morrisons in Chorlton at 10am, the off-road route will take riders along the Fallowfield Loop, a former train line. The ride will have several stops, where people can take in the green spaces, history and architecture of the area. There will be a visit to Shore’s Fold Community Farm, based in Highfield Country Park, and the tour will also take riders to Antiques Village at Levy’s old town hall. Other highlights include an old model village, a ‘secret’ lake and a quick tour of Sivori’s ice cream factory. The ride finishes at Levenshulme Market at around 2pm, in time for a late lunch. The ride is family-friendly and is also free, except for £2 if you want to go into the community farm. Spaces are strictly limited, so book soon.
