When you think of the musical influence of Joy Division, 30-piece arrangements with strings, brass and percussion aren’t exactly what springs to mind. But that’s exactly the cross-genre spectacle that Live Transmission has created with Joy Division Reworked. A collaboration between the Heritage Orchestra, visual artist Matt Watkins and electronic music pioneer Scanner, Live Transmission is a unique visual, electro and orchestral reinterpretation of Manchester’s most influential post-punkers. Featuring members of Ghostpoet and Three Trapped Tigers, the performance completely surpasses the conventional concert experience, instead immersing the audience in a sonic and visual monument that wholeheartedly captures the progressive spirit of Joy Division. Having only been performed at Brighton Dome and Sydney Opera House but to huge acclaim, this is the first time the orchestral tour-de-force perform across the country as they embark on a full-scale UK tour and redefine the traditional concert experience.
