Lovers Rock Monolgues provides the grand finale to Black History Month at Band on the Wall with its smooth reggae subgenre retrospectives. Bringing together the soulful singing voices of Janet Kay, Victor Romero Evans and Carroll Thompson for renditions of classics from the 70s and 80s, the show combines theatre and music to illuminate the shared memories of their fellow second generation Afro-Caribbeans. The trio’s perfectly woven stage chemistry is packed with humour to complement the realism of a genre that helped to give women a voice in reggae.
