As the world of television welcomes back wrestling on ITV’s new World of Sport,  Manchester is set to enjoy the the real deal with the stars of the Mexican wrestling style known as lucha libre (literally, free-style wrestling) at Albert Hall. This epic first for the venue sees some of the biggest stars of the masked and flamboyant sport turning Albert Hall into a Mexican arena for the night. Arguably a more impressive spectacle than the overblown WWE, the luchadores (not forgetting female, drag – exoticos – and dwarf fighters – los minis) are rightly adored in their home country for their high flying manoeuvres and death-defying feats of strength. If food is more your bag, gorge on the Mexican authenticities and cocktails at the side – which is what any spectator sport is truly about, of course. To be in with a chance of winning two tickets to the show, simply email competitions [at] manchesterwire [dot] co [dot] uk with a subject of ‘Lucha Libre Competition’, + your name, age, Twitter handle and phone number. Competition closes at midnight on Wed 21 Jun. The winner will be informed by Twitter the following day.
