In 2009 Magic Arm, aka multi-instrumentalist Marc Rigelsford, had quite the year. He released his critically acclaimed debut album (Make Lists, Do Something), won the BBC Introducing stage at that year’s Glastonbury festival and went on to play SXSW in Texas, gathering praise from the likes of Iron & Wine and Grizzly Bear along the way. After a two year gestation period Marc is ready to release his new record Images Rolling and he will launch it with a gig at the historic Baronial Hall at Chetham’s School of Music. A venue not often used for public concerts, it is one of the city’s oldest surviving buildings and a school of music seems somewhat fitting for a man who plays guitar, synths, keyboard, glockenspiel, various types of organ, the drums and is often referred to as a master of the loop pedal.
