The secret guests headlining The Skinny’s special freshers’ week show has been unveiled as Leeds-based indie rockers Menace Beach. The lo-fi garage quintet’s trip across the Pennines coincides with the release of their forthcoming EP, Super Transporterreum, recorded with Hookworms’ MJ. If you didn’t catch their recent slots supporting blood-spilling riff demons The Cribs then now’s your chance. They’ll join an already-impressive bill of groove inducing live music, featuring fellow Yorkshire fuzz-mongers Weirds, local grunge throwbacks False Advertising and alt-rock Mancs Fruit Bomb, all cherry-picked by the North West edition of cultural trend-setters The Skinny, whose student handbook will be stacked high for you to take home. Fresher or not, join the fun.
