Christmas has come early for Metronomy fans. Having already toured in March in support of their fourth album, Love Letters, the group return with just three dates in December for an extra spattering of electro-pop. Having worked their way from Night & Day to The Ritz, and now on to Albert Hall, this is evidence alone of their sharply rising stronghold of the sound waves. Starting from a lo-fi project in 1999 by frontman Joseph Mount, Metronomy became hot property when they released sophomore album Nights Out in 2008, a record that birthed tracks with catchy hooks that no listener could escape from. Their third release, The English Riviera, earned them a Mercury Prize nomination in 2011, and though their sound has evolved over the years, with Love Letters their latest demonstration of dexterity in multiple genres. They also wear smart, matching outfits and have adorable backdrops. Surely that’s enough for you?
