Moderat are a group who are more than the sum of their parts; which is a feat in itself when its constituent members are glitchy techno and hip hop duo, Modeselektor, and experimental electronic artist Apparat. The collective was born out of a drunken summoning in Boomkat of Manchester, which makes their upcoming gig at Albert Hall all the more symbolic. Where their debut album was an often hectic, bass-heavy record with melodic hooks that fished in listeners, their sophomore offering drew more from Apparat’s musical style; slowed down, wistful and evocative. The third and final instalment of the group’s album trilogy, III, is beyond highly anticipated – how will this journey culminate? Their last performance at Albert Hall sold out, grab these quick.
