Manchester Pride, the UK’s leading LGBT pride event, has announced that the original Sugababes will headline its main arena this year. The trio (pictured), who reformed as Mutya Keisha Siobhan last July and sold out their come-back show in under 15 minutes, will perform on Sunday 25 August during Manchester Pride’s Big Weekend. Avant-garde pop artist Patrick Wolf returns to the event for an exclusive acoustic set, with local star Ren Harvieu also making an appearance, alongside BRIT award-winning musician Kate Nash, who makes her debut in the main arena on Sackville Street. The casts of touring shows Rent 20th Anniversary Concert and Wicked will also be performing a selection of songs from the hit musicals. The multi-award-winning event runs for 72 hours over the August bank holiday, with both weekend and day tickets available. Manchester Pride also features fringe events, the Parade (Sat 24 Aug, 1pm) and will culminate in a candlelit vigil in Sackville Gardens (Mon 26 Aug, 9.15pm).
Fri 23 – Mon 26 Aug, Manchester city centre, day tickets from £10, weekend pass £21, www.quaytickets.com/manchesterpride
