Most people will know of Afflecks for its quirky boutique stores, however not everyone be aware that it also houses a fringe theatre. Three Minute Theatre (3MT), which can be found in the arcade, will be the venue a new play which premieres in early December. ‘My Baby Girl’, written by poet Amy McCauley, is a revenge drama influenced by Greek tragedy. The play confronts the issues of sexual politics and abuses of power. The challenging subject matter, which could have been ripped from the headlines, involves an academic who is accused of rape. ‘My Baby Girl’ is directed and produced by an all–female team of creatives from the ‘Jane The Foole’ theatre company. The play stars Mark Brent, Charlotte Rhodes, and Helen Meadmore.
