Acclaimed electronic musician and composer Oberman Knocks comes to The Lowry this January, sharing the stage with exciting Polish visual artists and musicians Odaibi to present a mesmerising double-bill entitled Comfort Zones. Oberman Knocks (aka Nigel Truswell) is known for his experimental dance tracks with ambient soundscapes and glitchy melodies, as seen on Trilate Shift, a recent double-LP released with Aperture in 2018. For this show at the Quays Theatre, Knocks will premiere a brand new work commissioned by The Lowry; fans may remember his previous performance at the venue as part of Week 53 in 2016, where he presented a soundscape tribute to The Smiths. A collaboration between artist Bartłomiej Szlachcic (odaibe) and musician Paweł Galecki (Pablo Frizzi) – performing together under the pseudonym Comfort Zones – this collaboration presents a sensorial audio-landscape perfectly complementing Knocks’ fragmented sounds, making this Lowry show a special double bill for electronic music fans.
