A new visual classical performance will take over the International Anthony Burgess Foundation on Friday 1 September. One is a touring project featuring composers from across England who have gathered photographs and recordings from their home cities. The artefacts will inspire new works for keyboard along with graphic scores and improvisation, all brought to life by pianist Ben Gaunt and artist Debbie Sharp. There will even be a photographic improvisation book to accompany this unique project. This one-off appearance in the Burgess’s converted mill space, created by producer Jacob Thompson-Bell, was recently featured on BBC Radio Manchester. One changes form depending on the space it inhabits – from bars and museums to concert halls and arts spaces. Catch it before it moves on to Yorkshire, London and Brighton.

Fri 1 Sep, International Anthony Burgess Foundation, Chorlton Mill, 3 Cambridge Street, Manchester M1 5BY. Tel: 0161 235 0776, 7.30pm, £7, www.anthonyburgess.org
