To coincide with the release of his new book The North (And Almost Everything In It), Gorilla hosts an evening with renowned writer and journalist Paul Morley in June. Best known for his work with NME and his marketing role in the early success of Frankie Goes to Hollywood, Morley remains a key figures in the northern music scene. Part memoir, part history, The North traces what being northern means to the writer, exploring the sense of unity behind the term, his own experiences of the region as well as its social and cultural background. The evening will see Morley giving a reading from the work, before talking to Dave Haslam about the ideas behind it, and his extensive career to date.
