Watch out for high-flying frills for everyone when Flown takes to the air at The Lowry. Pirates of the Carabina’s circus extravaganza features flying ironing boards, aerial hula-hooping and gravity-defying drum kits. Disaster and disagreements befall the acrobats as they get into ever-more tangled trouble – expect tumbles, tightropes and slapstick aplenty. Despite the breath-taking chaos, you’re in good hands – the company has played Glastonbury and Cirque Jules Verne, and won best Physical/Visual Theatre at the Edinburgh Fringe. Flown has enjoyed sell-out runs across the UK, Australia, the Middle East and Europe, and even got its very own Big Top tent at Pontio’s first ever circus festival in Bangor. This three-day appearance in Salford includes matinees and, as a captivating music-filled circus show, is suitable for anyone aged five upwards.
