Californian rockers Hot Snakes have announced that their January tour will kick start with a show at Manchester’s Gorilla. Since reforming on the live circuits of the world in 2011, the unrelenting guitar shredders have appeared on bills with fellow musical firestarters Drive Like Jehu, Rocket From the Crypt, Obits and Earthless. On the back of the tour, the fabled grunge label Sub Pop will be pressing the post-hardcore band’s first new record for spring 2018 release, alongside a hearty bounty of reissues that will include the early-2000s ear-bleeding treasures on Audit in Progress, Suicide Invoice and Automatic Midnight.

Thu 25 Jan, Gorilla, 54-56 Whitworth Street, Manchester, M1 5WW, Tel: 0161 826 2998, 7.30pm, £17, www.thisisgorilla.com
