Manchester’s Band on the Wall is set to welcome the Jaipur octet making waves as the Rajasthan Heritage Brass Band this September. At once traditional and timeless, the band has spent to best part of two years on tour to conjour uptempo cacophonies that bring the colourful tunes of their hometown to the world. The band’s infectious rhythms through trumpets to sousaphone may still be playing on repeat for those who saw their set at this year’s Rochdale Feel Good Festival, and their summer schedule has also seen stop-offs at Camp Bestival and Wychwood Festival. The show is part of the New North and South exchange partnership between arts organisations in the North of England and South of Asia, so expect to see more touring bands from the region over the coming years.
